CUHK Entrepreneur Day 2019

Initiated by the CUHK Alumni Torch Fund and co-organised by ORKTS and I‧CARE, CUHK Entrepreneur Day is an annual two-day event aimed at spreading entrepreneurial spirit and sharing innovative ideas among CUHK professors, students, alumni and public members.

This year, the event launched for the first time a track focusing on CUHK’s endeavour in social innovation. Prof Catherine So (Department of Educational Psychology; RABI programme leader), Prof Kelvin Tsoi (The Jockey Club School of Public Health and Primary Care; Founder of DeepHealth Limited) and Prof Kwan Hoi Shan (School of Life Sciences; Co-founder of Mushroom-X) shared in talks their experiences and aspirations in putting social innovation into practice to address social needs. Several KPF and S-KPF teams showcased their projects to exhibition visitors.

Held for the fifth consecutive year, the Entrepreneur Day featured the CUHK Entrepreneur Competition, exhibition of different start-ups and entrepreneurial ideas, talks and workshops, as well as pitching opportunities and a networking platform. Over 80 innovative projects covered themes such as AI and big data, financial technology and e-commerce, biotechnology and healthcare, STEM, and art and culture.
